Lawrence Bocaner retired from the National Sympony in 2000, after playing clarinet and bass clarinet with that ensemble for 40 years. Previously he had been a member of the Denver Symphony, the Aspen Festival orchestra, the Chicago Civic Orchestra and the US Army Field Band. He has degrees from the Juilliard School, where he was a student of Daniel Bonade, and the University of Colorado. He has been featured in chamber music recitals at venues including The Library of Congress, the Hirschhorn Gallery, the Phillips Gallery, Strathmore Hall and the Kennedy Center Terrace Theater. Larry was a founding member of the classical wind-band "Nightwinds" which performed in such exotic locations as Kodiak Island, Alaska and Eunice, Louisiana -- the Cajun music mecca!
