Agamemnon, the gripping Greek tragedy set at the close of the Trojan War, stages the triumphant return home of King Agamemnon, the leader of the victorious Greek army, and his brutal murder at the hands of Klytemnestra, his wife.  Regarded as Aeschylus' masterpiece, Agamemnon now breathes new and powerful life in a vivid operatic setting by composer Andrew Earle Simpson and librettist Sarah Brown Ferrario.  The opera Agamemnon, created with the utmost possible fidelity to the ancient model, links music and dance in an integral connection, as both aspects participate fully in the presentation of the tragedy.
